MS 358’s SCHOOL LEADERSHIP TEAM (SLT)
What is a School Leadership Team – A School Leadership Team (SLT) assists in developing educational policies for MS 358’s Comprehensive Educational Plan and ensures resources are aligned to implement those policies.
What is the role of an SLT – A SLT provides annual assessment to the district superintendent on the principal’s effective development and shared decision-making relationship with the SLT members.
Who is eligible to serve on an SLT – the exact composition of a school’s SLT is set forth in the team’s bylaws, but three members of the school community are mandatory members of the SLT: the Principal, Parent Association President & a United Federation of Teachers Chapter Leader. The remainder of the team is comprised of elected parents and staff members.
